About This Guide

An independent, source-checked guide to OpenAI Dots and GPT-6 Astra — written to be useful, honest about what is unknown, and easy to correct.

Last verified: September 30, 2026 · Reviewed by AstraDot editorial desk

AstraDot is an independent, source-checked guide to OpenAI Dots — the always-on AI agents powered by GPT-6 Astra. We answer the questions people actually arrive with: what a Dot is, who can get one, what it costs, how it stays safe, and what OpenAI has not yet published.

AstraDot is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI. We are an independent editorial project. For anything official, use openai.com.

What this site is

We publish plain-English explainers, comparisons, and tools about Dots and GPT-6 Astra. The two pillars are the What are OpenAI Dots? explainer and the GPT-6 Astra model guide; everything else links back to them. We do not run ads for OpenAI, accept payment for coverage, or speak on OpenAI’s behalf.

Who writes it

This guide is written and maintained by the AstraDot editorial desk, a small independent group that follows AI products closely. We are not OpenAI employees, contractors, or partners, and we do not have privileged access to OpenAI’s roadmap. Every page is signed by the desk and stamped with a review date so you can see how current it is.

How we check facts

  • Primary sources first. Facts are checked against OpenAI’s own announcement, help center, and system card, then linked inline.
  • Nothing invented. If a price, date, benchmark, or quota is not published, we write “not published” and link the official page rather than estimate.
  • Dated reviews. Each guide shows the date its facts were last re-checked, so a stale page is visible at a glance.
  • Corrections welcome. When OpenAI changes something or we get it wrong, we fix the page and note it.

Why it exists

Dots are a fast-moving product, and coverage swings between hype and silence. This site tries to be the calm middle: a single place that keeps what is known, what it costs, and what is still unknown — with a clear line between OpenAI’s words and our own commentary. It is an independent project, and it earns its keep by being accurate and genuinely useful, not by being promotional.

How to correct us

If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us. The contact page lists how to reach the editorial desk for corrections, tips, and product questions. Confirmed corrections are applied to the affected page.

What we’re building next

We are expanding the guide with deeper comparisons and more practical tools. The roadmap shows what is planned and in progress, and you can join the waitlist to hear when new pages and tools ship.
